Is it true that U.S. military burned Bibles?

The Australian "Herald of Hope" magazine of June 2011 has an article stating that Afghan language Bibles which were sent to an American soldier were burned as trash by the U.S. military. If this is true did such order originate from Pres. Obama? The article also states that military regulations require that if a soldier handles a copy of the Koran he must first put on clean glove; there is no such requirement for handling the Bible. Can anyone vouch for the accuracy of this? - If true American Christians certainly need to wake from their slumber.
